I now need a new under engine cover (the plastic part that covers the bottom of the sump and engine)
Not sure how but snow has managed to get above my plastic cover - ie between the bottom of the engine and above the plastic tray, forced it down, and coverted my quattro into a snow plow lol. i know my cover was not loose, so maybe some of the deep snow got in somewhere, nt sure how, but regardless i now need a new coer. Happy days lol.
Blimey.. that cover (guard) is held-on pretty well with some hefty turn-screws.
Have holes been ripped where the cover would normally be attached to the car?

Yeah, covers split in two lol. Gt a feeling the snows been forced in around offside wheel arch, where the cover meets the arch, had a screw a little loose, it was secure but nt as well as the rest. Think the wheel arch has gt clagged up with snow an slush abd worked its way in. Had to jack the car up and remove in the snow lol. Luckily the fixing points on underside of the car are ok, jyut the covers knackered

I read about this issue on the US site Audizine, most of them that get snow go and get and aluminium one custom made, or you can buy them of the shelf. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4615615

Its a splatter cover, dnt worry bout it. It stops crud splashing the bottom of the car an helps aerodynamics.
For the record, i just ordered a new one frm Audi, £81inc vat, getting it tomoz

You are going to need replacement mounting hardware as well, don't forget that! I know here in the States our ECS Tuning price is more than 50% as pricey as ordering the hardware from Audi.
In case you need it, here is a link:

I have used cable ties to secure the shield all round because the fixings seem to work loose or are not secured properly after servicing .Cheap and effective.

As an update to this, got my new cover yesterday (which i cant fit untill all the ice under my car has melted) is slightly different. For a start its made frm abs plastic - my old one seemed to me made out do some sort od plasticy stuff with fibres in it, but was quite brittle. also the foam sound deadening stuff has gone and the new part actually has bubbles formed on the engine side of its surface - made all in 1 go instead of the foam being stuck on afterwards. MAybe Audi realised the old belly pan was prone to breakage?

Same thing happened to my B6 cabriolet. Undertray had a small crack, then the snow completely cracked it. It's being held up with ties atm, but a new one has been ordered...
Now.. next issue, leaking petrol from behind the font offside wheel arch!
Only just got the thing out of the snow (was stuck for a couple days in my driveway, until I could be bothered to clear it)
