I have a '07 reg 2.0l TDI Estate 4motion (great car) and I'm looking for some car mats. All the sites I have visited only offer mats with either round or oval fixings, my car has neither of the locators in the foot wells. Can you get mats without these holes (ie plain mats) or do the locators come with the mats. If the locators do come with the mats how easy are they to fit as I'm a bit rubbish with mechanicals things. :1zhelp:

I bought a set from my VW dealer. The front mats came with button fixings. The base part has a screw thread which you screw into the car carpet. Dead easy!

I got a premium set for £20 delivered from an ebay seller called carmats2fit-ltd. I am very pleased with them. They came with little round plastic screws which attach the front mats (firmly) to the carpet beneath.

I've bought a couple of sets of mats from eBay trade advertisers, and in both cases I was supplied with the floor fixings at no extra cost. However, you may need to ask for them, because in my experience they aren't routinely supplied unless specifically mentioned in the ad.

Was looking at getting these, my dad had a set of cannon mats years ago and they lasted for donkey's years

a little pricey but as they say you get what you pay for

i got mats for my car, where very new and stiff, so i put them in my oven at 80 degrees, and they formed around all the contours of the well, i even had a smaller one for rear passenger tunnel. formed a perfect curved mat to keep kids slushy snow feet off tunnel carpet,

crazy, but it works well.
