Hello,
I have a 1997 A4 2.4 v6, in this cold weather, below -5c when I start the car the temperature warning light comes on. If I try to drive the car the accelerator sticks down and the brakes aren't assisted. The coolant level is correct and the engine obviously is not over heating, any suggestions? When the weather warms up all is fine. I image some fluid is freezing, any ideas?

Many thank, fred

Yes that is the symbol, any idea how it relates to very cold weather as it's meant to represent coolant temp too high or coolant level too low, which in this case is obviously not the problem.
