Hi
Done a quick search for this but so much comes up..so apologies if its already been covered!
My Uncle as just bought a 56 plate A4 2.0 Ltr TDi and asked me to find out what bulbs are for the side lights to change them so that they match the Xenons..I have LED's in my Mini Cooper S and went to buy them today for him but they guy said they're £25 a set as the regular ones I use for the MCS will be turned off by the Audi's computer. Is this right? and are there any particular brands that you all recommend?
Thanks
Martin

use something like these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-LED-SideLight-501-T10-W5W-HID-no-canbus-errors_W0QQitemZ320455588383QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item4a9ca43a1f
thats what I am using and the built in resistors stops any canbus errors
this is mine fitted

I bought the side lights from the ebay link you posted and they've just arrived.
Is it a dead easy job to rplace the side lights, simply unplug one and plug in the new one?
Or do I need to start stripping parts of trim away??
thanks

just plug and play,
mine were slightly wide for the sidelight
holes but filled about half a millimeter off
the side of the bulb and they fit right in.

how do you actually get into where the side lights are as its a bit of a tight squeeze..or am I missing something??

its quite a light sqeeze, just take your time and start with the passanger side as there is a little more room there, the bulb just pulld out but can be tight so don't use the wires to pull it, on the drivers side its easyer to remove the air intake, it pulls of in seconds

I also wrap a small bit of pvc tape around the bulb holder
which makes it really easy to pull them out in future.

Like you Martin - I have xenons and am also unable to get any bulbs out.
My manual's diagrams are different from what is actually in my car so that doesn't help either!!

only way to get them out is grabbing the two wires for the sidelight
and pulling until the bulb pops out.this was told to me by other members on here and is the method I use every time.

I just bought some of the sidelights too... Had a hard pull at the wires and manager to pull one of the cables off clean... Whoops better get the fixed first!

oh dear, must not have been replaced in a while.
seen so many forums with people having trouble
removing them.the one on the drivers side on mine was
hard to get out for the first time.....partly because the
bulb holder was melted??
now the leds keep it a bit cooler.
heard of people replacing them with new rubber bulb holders
