Hello,

I currently have an A6 2,4 but looking at swapping it in for a A4 tdi quattro. Could anybody tell me are there any issues with these cars, what to look out for and what sort of mpg i could expect ?

Hi mate they have all the same issues as a non quattro, check for suspension noises, make sure it drives nice and tight etc.. but being a quattro check the gearbox is ok as they are more expensive to replace and much harder to find second hand. It should have a 6speed gear box which is fine but I found it to be not as slick and solid as the 5speed box. check for any knocking under exelleration that speeds up with the road speed as this could be propshaft bushes or even proshaft ware, also tire ware is worth checking as the 4x4 is gona be harder on the tires. MPG wise it depends on the gear box fitted, manual I would expect very low 40's in the 1.9 tdi less in the auto and even less if it is the 2.5tdi.
