Hi all,
I'll hopefully be getting my 2.0 TDIe early next month. I thought I'd plan ahead and see what deals are available and have tried using the usual comparison websites that involve confused meercats.
They don't seem to mention this model yet, despite that fact that some folks on here already have them.... they skip from the 120 diesel straight to the 143 diesel.
Can anyone tell me a decent insurer or a comparison site that will cater for this model? Also, is there anywhere I can look at gap insurance other than the dealer? I think he was wanting £600 or so which seemed like a fair bit of cash!
Thanks
Gary

Can't help on insurance but call thse guys on the GAP insurance. They're really helpful and will explain the different types there are so that you don't get missold a product.

Hi,
I had the same problem when I got mine in November. I am insured with esure: as I already have another car with them they gave me 3 yrs NCD (£392) It is now listed on the esure site and I think it is the same as the 143 2.0 TDI diesel. I wouldn't bother with GAP insurance ....the dealer makes more comission on this and autoglym than the sale of the car.

Hi Gary, reading your post has reminded me to get Gap Insurance for my car!
Audi did offer it to me but was a hefty 600 notes :aargh4:
Just this minute bought it from :-
http://www.click4gap.co.uk/
They come highly recomended and are one of the biggest companies at this sort of thing. Also they have a "refer a friend" if your interested. You get a tenner and I get a tenner. if interested pm me. :beerchug:
Mine was £213 for a car with a value of £24K for 3 years. Max payout of £15K. This was return to invoice. I did get cheaper quotes but click4gap came recommended.
Apparently cars lose 60% of their value in three years so you need to bare this in mind.
When I bought my last Audi, I foolishly took this insurance out through Audi and wasn't till several months later I realised that the max claim was only £5K. So if you do manage to get Audi to drop their price just make sure they don't drop their cover also. £5K wouldn't have covered the loss of the car after 12 months old!! although most car insurance covers 'new for old' in the first year.
Cheers

I also decided to go with surf and protect, because I have had previous positive experience with Fortis, their insurer. Some of the other insurance companies which underwrite the policies of online brokers were names I'd never heard of. Their quote was not the cheapest but they will match any other valid quote minus a further fiver. This is what I did. I took out 4 year cover with a £20k limit for £223.

Thank you all very much for the replies - what a fantastically helpful bunch of people on a forum :)
I'll make a couple of calls on this; it looks like gap is a good thing and do-able for a lot less than the dealer wanted! Still need to sort out a quote for the actual insurance but again it looks like that's going to require me to talk to someone as opposed to online quote tools due to the model discrepancy.

Just like Plife, I went with Direct Gap also.
