Two weeks into owning my car (which I car share with my missus) and she lost control of it today in the snow going around a corner on the industrial estate where I work.
She'd slowed down but lost control as it skidded and it went straight over the kerb and scratched the bottom black plastic part of the bumper and put some scratches on the body coloured part as well. Apart from that appearance wise the car seems ok.
I know I'll need to see about getting the tracking sorted after this but what else could possibly be wrong? suspensions seems ok, but I'm just worried incase jumping up the curb could of done some damage

Sorry to hear that mate.
I would get the alloys checked in case any are out of true.
Hope everythig checks out ok.

Just popped to Kwik Fit to get the tracking checked and said about the whirring noise coming from the front when I get upto 40mph+ and they said the tracking is fine and they cant see anything bent...completely baffled now

Mark ,whirring noises tend to be rotationally related ,for example ,bearings possibly.
Was the whirring noise present before your
lady had the bump or is it new?

New as far as I know, as its quite noticeable and I dont remember it from before.

Certainly worth checking them then and a good look all around suspension etc

Take it somewhere that has half a clue what to look for.

yeah I did think that. I've been looking at with my dad, he seems to think the wheels bearings are ok. but there is definetly a whirring noise from the front left as we compared it to the front right and there was no noise.
going to try greasing the wheel bearing and cv gaitor first to try and narrow out things first.
*fingers crossed*

Just thinking a drying/dieing outer c/v would also potentially show as a whirring/droning noise if it had just been slammed against a kerb or similar especially if it was on it's way out but previously not apparent.
The n/s outer c/v on my 80 coupe showed itself after I had clumsily bashed it whilst changing the shock absorber, surely worth greasing to discern any notable difference

Just as a follow up on my last comments, does your hub/bearing carrier appear to be rotating, true and in line ,if you see what I mean,as if it is slightly off of true it would be putting extra load against a weak bearing
