The only coolant temperature sensor I can think of is the one on coolant flange on the side of the cylinder head. They commonly fail, and infact have been replaced by a new revision. Likely the revision in your car is an A revision, now they use an ATK revision. We carry the original and the revision is you would like either click here for sensors (http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B6_A4-Quattro-1.8T/Search/Coolant_Temperature_Sensor/?salesrep=CArmbruster&utm_source=vwaudiworld&utm_medium=forum&utm_content=CArmbruster&utm_campaign=postreply). I'm afraid I don't know the difference between G62 and G2 codes though.

Which engine ?
On mine I have the Coolent temp sensor next to the block, and then the sensor at the bottom of the radiator.
