Hi Guys,
I want to change the battery on my A4 cab 05 plate. I have got a cracking price on a bosch silver battery but when i looked at changing the original there is a little plastic pipe coming from the + side of the battery but not from the terminal. Is this just a drain pipe from the old battery and if so can i just leave it tucked away. If i fit the bosch there is no conection for this.
Thanks in advance for any replies as i dont want the dealer removing me twice as much as the bosch for thier battery.
Regards
Chaz

Does this mean i can leave it unconnected to the new battery and everything will be ok.

Hi,
I need a new battery for my 1.8T Avant.
Can you let me know the model number for the Bosch? Is it a 096?
Also could you divulge your source?!
TIA!

Be carefull guys when changing batteries - you risk causing some daft problems to the car - i do so on mine and the throttle body needed resetting as the memory had forgot where it had adapted too - not very good when you stop at some traffic lights and the revs drop and stall - all the time! I would advise using another battery plugged into your cig' lighter to ensure the computer is not wiped - especially if you have a remapped car.

your car shouldnt do that mate. the ecu has an eprom memory, ie erasable, programmable, read only memory. ie you can rewrite/change it, but it should store the changes unless wiped or re-wrote. removing the power should not wipe or change the eprom. how did you connect ur battery, ie neg or pos 1st?
