View Full Version : Poor visibility when reversing at night

Hey all,

This might sound a bit strange (but hopefully not! :)) so bear with me...

I used to own a 2002 B5.5 Passat and I found that when reversing the car at night, the light output from the twin reversing lights was far better than on my current 2006 B6 model - which of course only has one light on the passenger side for some reason!

My question is then if anything can be done to improve the situation such as installing a higher output bulb (type?) or (more drastically), retrofitting a second reversing light on the other side of the car in place of/alongside? the fog light

Thanks!

We were discussing this last week fella.

When I get the time,I might go on the LED route. See link below!

Is it possible to change the reversing bulb for an LED that would give a better output but not throw up errors on the dash?

Quality LED bulbs have resistance matched to that of a similar filament bulb. Some cheap ones don't bother and these can cause bulb failure warning problems. I don't beleive LED's give out more light but that's just me.
