Need your codes from spare wheel well sticker to advise.
Saloon springs have a lower weight rating on the rear. Think its 1010kg and think the estate is 1100ish kg. Buy some eibach or h&r springs that are 30mm lower, bit expensive but if you have the cash lieing around. Rember you get what you pay for. I have Weitec 30 mm lower springs and am very happy with them. The ride isnt to harsh and the car handles alot better And the price was very good (bought secound hand). Will probably buy some shocks to match when the funds are looking better. Just lowering springs will make the standard shocks wear out alot faster than factory springs.
Hope that helped :beerchug:

How much extra has the 'modification' cost to your insurance premium?
Nothing. They said as long as i wasnt increasing bhp it was the same price. Im with herts and have been for a very long time because they hardly charge any- thing for small mods. wheels, suspension etc. Spray the springs black and dont say anything lol :biglaugh:

thanks will check for them codes. was looking at springs on ebay aswell but dont no about how low to go. apex ones any good. how much lower is sport springs to the factory ones fitted to mine.
Sport springs are 15mm lower. Apex springs are good, had a set on my polo but they were a little low and it did bump steer at times (ran out of travel on the shocks and bounced on the bump stops). I have been very happy with Weitec springs, no problems what so ever.

OEM 1BE springs on this car dropped it by at least 20mm on the front:

To lower your Passat the 'Stop Bumper' (rear), and 'Helper Spring' (front) have to be changed or you will run out of travel like 808 says. They don't cost too much either. Some people prefer the standard hollow anti-roll bar steering characteristics to the solid 'sport' version so this is less critical.

Not my car. Wheels are bit 2 big and cheesy for me lol. Had a look and my springs r 35mm front and back. 16 inch audi wheels and it handles so much better than standard with out loosing to much in ride comfort. The bigger the wheel u go for and the lower the profile tyre makes the ride harsher as well.

Too risky for me I'm afraid. Most insurers are very good at taking your money but also equally good at looking to the small print when faced with a payout. A fully comp friend was in this position and they paid for the third party repairs but wouldn't touch his car because of undeclared wheel 'modifications'. It probably also depends how keen the individual loss adjuster is to make his monthly bonus. They love finding remapped TDI's.

will check them codes in the wheel well am evan more baffled now looking at some of those links. lol:1zhelp:
Told the insurance and all the modifications are listed on my policy. There are 3 or 4 insurance companies that are modification friendly.
