View Full Version : Wiper not working again
Had this problem not long ago (month). After spraying wd40 on the motor is started working. So thought had to be the motor. Taken the motor out and bench tested it and it works fine. Can hear the relay clicking when you turn the wiper ons! would have thought this means that the switch and relay are fine. The wires and connections leading to the motor look perfect as well. any suggestions?? I did find the motor sat in water but have cleaned all the drainage holes and sealed round the pollen filter.

Running the motor with no load doesn't mean the motor is ok. Perhaps it just can't cope when it has to move the wipers. Is anything siezing.

It could be that your ignition switch is worn. I jumped in the car a few months back and realised that the wipers, radio, heated rear screen and indicators weren't working.
Turns out when you turn the key in the ignition, it doesn't spring back quite as much as it should, a simple flick back a couple of degrees (as if you were turning the car off) and everything works again.
Have taken the arms of the motor and made sure the mech is free and working smoothly. When bench testing the motor is was still connected to the mech and turned no probs.
