hi i have just bought a symphony 1 stereo for my 2000 a4 tdi the problem is my car has not got a BOSE system fitted but the stereo i now have has.when i turn on the streo BOSE is displayed for a moment then goes out.the stereo works fine all but the front speakers which do not have any sound.i recently tried to fit a aymphony 1 out a A6 but it didnt quite fit:mad: this was bose and it also had the same problem.its not the speakers, they worked fine with the original stereo.i have read it needs to be pluged into a vag machine? to change back to a non BOSE system is this correct?or can it be done another way?if i need to take it to a garage how much can i expect to pay?hope someone out there can help, many thanks,Simon.:confused::confused::1zhelp :

I'm going to guess that the two head units use different setups with regards to amplification, or powering the amp with a remote lead. You will most likely need a wiring harness adapter to sucessfully run anything other than the standard unit. I'd consider taking advice from an audio engineer. Even ********* might be able to point you in the right direction.
I know when I installed my Pioneer that there were at least three, possibly four or more different configurations of speakers and amplifiers across the A4 range. Some amplify four channels, Bose may do that. Mine has a rear amp only meaning there are only two channels amplified.

you need softcode altering to 'switch' the bose setting off
if you dont know anyone with vagcom then an audi dealer would be able to do it but not sure how much they'd charge (it would take a couple of minutes)
where abouts are you?
