Hi,
Over the last month, the drivers lock on my 98 Passat TDi has been progressively seizing up despite WD40and oiling. Now it rotates freely (360degs) without locking or unlocking. Can I remove the lock cylinder easily and how do I do it ? Are there any key recognition/electronics associated with this that would be damaged in the process and what about replacements/new items. The central locking system now has 'both legs down one knicker' and is working in a highly unpredictable manner. Until I have sorted out the lock, I cannot address the other central locking/remote locking issues.

Many thanks to those who gave advice on the dry joints on door lock pcbs. I have repaired one and will probably have to do the others in turn.

Bestu kvedjur,
