Door handle not working

Hi there
Got a problem with my passenger side front door...
Accidentally had it pulled out when I remotely unlocked the doors.
Now the door won't open.
It locks and unlocks fine, but won't open with the exterior or interior handle.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
Obviously some sort of clip or cable has come off (happened on the rear door, but I could open that from the inside still!)

i have the same problem with my passenger door rear we opened it it needs need cable i have beeb told it is a common problem for early b5 98 99 if u r looking for a repair u r looking for a cabnle onyl araqund 40 paund but just go to brakers yard u will find it

The door trim can be removed with the door closed,but even then you are only half way home to getting the door open,you will then need to remove the lock carrier plate to access the door lock,PM your e-mail address and i will send the info.May be a long shot,but have you tried locking the vehicle with door handle pulled out
