Recently bought a 07 plate B7 A4 Tdi , its my first diesel car and I'm extremely happy :D
I was on to my local Audi dealer about retrofitting a trip computer stalk as mine is without (all I have is miles left in the tank on the display) unfortunately they said that it wasn't a case of replacing the stalk that you either have the info or not!?!?!
From reading through these forms I was sure that the stalk been replaced and some changing of code in vag-com an all sorted??
also asked out of curiosity how much for a center armrest retrofit. 560 euro + vat!!

Hmm, I wouldn't pay £5.60 for the centre armrest. It's useless.
When it's down it blocks the parking brake and is too high and too far back to be comfortable to rest your arm on. Mine is permanently flipped up out of the way. I mean seriously, did anyone at Audi check the usability of that design before they went ahead with it. Amazingly it was carried forward from the B6 to the B7!

I like my arm rest! Another storage space, and comfy on long motorway journeys. Admit it obscures the handbrake but seeing as I hardly do stop start driving I'll live with that. Also houses the phone cradle if I was to use one for the phone prep. Price wise- 560 euros far too steep, think you can get them for a lot less on ebay and they are easy to fit yourself.
DIS: you can retrofit this, need the stalk and some other bits and a vag-com reprogram, not sure entirely what is involved but it can be done! Some more searches on here should help you out.

I couldn't live without my armrest. It feels odd when it is up. It does ever so slightly hinder the handbrake, but i must admit I don't notice it anymore.
MMI = Multi Media Interface

Retrofitting DIS is not a bad job, new stalk and one wire into the back of the instrument cluster, and some reprogramming work. There's a post on here about it somewhere, or look on Tyresmoke.net
