Hi

I had a problem with my car heating up and the engine temp fluctuating and i had the thermostat changed a few days ago ... this seemed to had solved the problem and the car was heating up and gettin to 90 degree mark as per usual

until today...

Just now i saw steam comin out of bonnet and my car had the warning light come on after that its over heating and the heater is blowing luke warmish air.

i set the climate control to 49 and it showed a reading of 115 degrees ..

FOr some reason the fan isnt coming on when the car needs cooling down but does come on when i hit the A/C button.

My thoughts on this are that its probably a air lock .. can someone please shed some light as to what it can be.

Turning on the A/C will run the fan, thats correct operation.
You could have a faulty fan relay or a dodgy thermo switch.
have a look on the rad for a switch, bridge the wires and see if the fan runs..

there was a leak near the waterpump

i put radwell and this has fixed it

wat temp should the fan come on?? mine is reaching 109 on climate control 49 but no sign of the fan comin on

I don't what temp. the fans should cut in at.
Radweld is not good for engines, it can block waterways causing overheating.
i would expect the fans to be running at that temp....

its now workin and fans are comin on at 109 degrees.

i am going to empty the coolant system and refill in a few days so the radwell doesnt block anything else

what was the leak, was it the waterpump?

im not sure but you could see little drops comin off the belt... so i guess its probably the sealing around the water pump..
