around £8 from Audi?..i think that had a little bit of discount on it tho.

You shouldnt need to replace the water pump, unless its gone? Depends what problem your trying to solve.

ok here is what is happening

The Temp guage never goes over 60 when driving unless im stuck in traffic or just parked up.. Heaters blow hot air after a while. I have checked 49c on the climate control display and it shows that the engine temp only ever stays around 50-60 degress and only rises to 80-90 degrees when i live it idle..

Do you think it is definitely the thermostat that needs changing. My theory is that it is stuck open therefore when driving the cold air just cools the engine down and keeps it cool.

Let me know

I think thats the one you need, but for some reason its not showing on a 2001 A3. Someone on here might be able to confirm its the same thermostat?

If not the one you want is pretty damn similar so shouldnt cost anymore.

I am about to buy an A4 with exactly that problem. The guy who is selling it is dropping the price by about £50 because of it. Would that cover it when I take it to my local, friendly German car specialist, or do I negotiate a bit harder?
