Hi All
2002 B5.5 Estate TDI 100 PD (126k)
After reading many threads regarding CTS problems I decided I should change mine due to the usual symptoms (over-revving on start/tick-over uneven). Many contributors say it takes 30 mins max and is easy. I am not a pro mechanic but I've maintained many vehicles over the last 35 years so I'm not inexperienced. I was surprised to find the CTS on my engine right at the rear of the Block, fairly difficult to access. After much fiddling removed 4 pin connector but could not withdraw U shaped clip as it had seized. Finally broke it by levering the bottom of the U. Trying to force the remaining parts out I broke the alloy housing, so now I am faced with draining the cooling system and changing the CTS housing, a much more involved job. Anybody had any experience of changing this housing? Its an AVB engine, by the way. Any help appreciated
