Radio problems PHONE 1000

Hi my 2000 passat radio is showing PHONE 1000 it wont let me put in the safe code and dosent matter what i do i cant seem to clear it :confused:. Any ideas, Thanks Gazza

You could try disconnecting the battery, the small wire on the side of the main terminal clamped with M6 bolt if its the same as my 2001 model. I have same problem with my phone kit locking the radio in 'phone' mode. Leave the keys out, lock/unlock the doors and then start the car, should re-tune itself after a few minutes.

Thanks have tried this, still not working still stuck on phone mode.

Do you have a phone kit? If so, then it is probably the phone kit that is putting a signal onto the feed wire in the back of the radio unit. If you don't have a kit then it must be an internal fault in the radio
