1998 central looking

hi one and all,a freind of mine has a 1998 passatt,we are having trouble with the central locking,with the remote key or by locking/unlocking the locks on the drivers front door the button just goes up and down,it wont lock either way,also the nsr passenger door is not working,any ideas,many thanks mike

yeah under passenger carpet ccm module . usually the wires going to the module get corroded on the many joins in the loom . you get 4 or more wires somtimes joining 1 from ccm replace all the joins first ,usually these are just taped up soldered joints common fault with interior lights central locking aerial reception , electric windows
