Hi, apologies if this post is duplicating some that are already on here but I can't find any that quite match my problem...
I have a mk4 1.6 manual petrol and it has developed a knocking sound when decelerating. The noise is related to road speed and is present in any gear, in neutral, and in fact even if the engine is off and just rolling forwards. The sound seems to disappear as soon as any acceleration is applied.
I've jacked the car up and rolled the front wheels round and both sides stick slightly at a certain point. I'm no mechanic so have no idea whether that is normal... I suspect not though!
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys!
