well folks my womans father has a 99 90bhp passat,
he got the timing belt done 2 days ago,along with shocks and arms in the front.
now yesterday he was driving along an the car suddendly stopped and rolled to a hault?????
it is turning over alright but just wont go any ideas

any1 got ant ideas????? this man in serious sweats thinkin its his engine
im thinking fuel pump at most but should it give some notice of going not just all of a suddened???

First thing to do is to get a fault code read, anything else is pure speculation.

They have a painful habit of jumping just the pump timing a few days after the belt has been done. I have seen this happen a few times for no apparent reason. All that has to be done is the engine pinned and lock plated back up and the timing reset.

its not showing any fault codes!!!
i was thinking it could only be something to do with pump r timing cause it just happened all of a suddened cheers lads ill let yas know how we got on

I would expect you to find the pump timing is one tooth out.

well yous were right about the timing!!
but it was out by 3 teeth

Was it a Bosch belt?
