A3 rear side light issues

Hi

Car failed its MOT as the rear lights don't work. The rear light on the passenger side works intermittantly and the drivers side never.

Any ideas???

Have checked the fuses and the replaced the bulbs, the brake lights work, fog lights and reverse lights but not the side lights???

The garage think it may be the switch?? Its a local garage that aren't an electrical specialist so am reluctant to buy the switch just yet.

Looksl ike it might be the headlight switch. Any idea how cheap, easy to replace/repair etc?

Any info appreciated
