Hi

I have recently purchased a Golf GT 2.0 FSI to replace a Polo that my wife had, and there a few cosmetic things that were missing such as one of Parcel Shelf hooks.

I wonder if anyone can advise where to buy replacement hooks that hold the string of the parcel shelf. I have been in contact with the local dealer and he advised it is not a part itself and you need to replace the whole panel and will cost £25-30 plus VAT and then advised it would need fitting. Dont get me wrong it is not that I wont pay £25-30 for it but I can believe you dont just get the hooks to put back in as the panel is there just missing the hook.

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

Neil

Thanks for the reply, thats what I thought.

But I was just round at the dealers there, as they are quite literally across the street from my office, and they are adamant that I can only buy a whole new panel. Although on Thursday when I first asked them I was told I could buy the hooks, but they say that was wrong and that option is no longer available.

The problem I have is that the majority of dealers in my area are the same company and give the same response.

I will try to find the part at a scrap dealer if I can

hi, thats the dealers for u,waste of time. but for sure i got one 6 months ago and the lad told me im lucky because you used to have to buy the whole panel.problem with buying from a breakers you will have to get the whole panel, because u will struggle to get hook out with out breaking it, there moulded on the inside, i guess when the car is built.

Yeah I agree I have tried a few scrap dealers / breakers and it seems this part is difficult to get as none of them have it. If push comes to shove and I cant get it I will buy it from a dealer as much as I would dislike to pay over the odds.

I got told by a v.w dealer i had to buy a whole new parcel shelf.
Being tight, i broke the other one and put in two stainless steel
m5 cap head bolts.

You have to love dealers, they seem to think they can charge for what you want. As for the idea that sounds good only problem i have is i dont have a spare parcel shelf. Although I could maybe find some bolts or something to use, may look at that.

If anyone got any of the hooks, please can you post the part number up please..

I need to get one, however i do have a spare full plastic window surround which i could fit if i have time..

I thought about the M5 screw option.... I guess you can still lift the hook on and off if you leave the screw out around 3/4 turns??

Possible alternative B5 Passat front footwell carpet locators.
See attached pic.
could easily be fixed as self tapping, big shoulder to hide broken stub, and recessed to locate cord.
About £4 a set and as far as I know still available
