Have had my car now for two weeks and eventually got round to taking some pictures. These include pictures with regard to recent posts etc. There are some general ones, a couple of the newly fitted reversing sensors, the e-bay (Germany) grill badge, and finally, the infamous transport block found on my shocker recently...!

Feedback welcome :beerchug:

Your car looks really well esp with the 19" rims - I haven't seen many silver S-Line Avants.

Nice one. Love the 7 spoke wheels :D
How did they miss the transport block

Just checked under the front wheel arches of my new B8 - well 5 months old - and I notice that I have 2 yellow surrounds at the top of the shock absorbers where they meet the bodywork. Is this normal? The wife does think the ride is firmer than the 2.5TDI Quattro sport we also have.

PLEASE tell me that my garage have not left the transportation blocks in my car as well

Regards

I've got a feeling a lot of people will be getting their torches out! :(

Would be interesting to see if this is more common than first expected.:(

Let us know your findings, as well as anyone else who finds similar.

When I showed my local dealer, (The one I normally go for service work, and not the one where I bought the car), he said he would be 'more concerned' if it had been the front suspension due to the drive shafts etc...

Would definately recommend a dealer check, even if it's not the one you bought the car from to confirm if they are indeed, transportation blocks.

Best of luck

The 1st being my one. (Ice sliver avant with 19's) ;)

i would be slightly concerned with the age of you car though. '51 plate???

The grill badge looks out of place IMO.. other than that, nice car!

My friend drove a BMW 325i Coupe for three years with the transport bushes in. He always complained that the ride was too firm.
Not just Audi I'm afraid. *Heads outside to check the CC*

Nice looking car!

I'm curious about your rear parking sensors though - they look like they are mostly painted, but have black circles in them. I've not seen any like this before - was this a custom paint job?

The sensors are painted as by the Audi dealer. There is a bit that's not painted, but I think this is to keep the full functionality of the sensors (ie paint has to be a certain thickness etc)??? I noticed this on a another Audi too. Best option is the factory fit, but I would rather have them like this than not at all :o

After reading your post it made me think that I'd fitted it too high? Checked some other S-Line badged photos in google and have now moved it down one grill 'square'. Cheers for that...:D
