Hi, first post in this section of the forum as my new car should turn up in a few weeks.:D Sad to see the old B6 cabriolet go though...
Here's the spec:
A4 2.0 TDI Quattro S Line Executive in Ibis White. (stop/start)
- Full Milano Leather
- Heated Seats
- Folding S Dimming mirrors
- B&O sound system
- DAB radio
- AMI (hopefully with the Ipod cable included)
- Rear Parking Sensors
- Rear Window Blinds
- Interior Light Pack
- High Beam Assistance
- Tyre Pressure Monitor
- Deletion of model and engine capacity.
Ive asked the garage to enable the needle sweep on start up, so hopefully they can manage that. They are not sure if this is standard on the 2010 models now? anyone just got one? is this a standard feature now?
Cheers, :beerchug:
Hi,
I think needle sweep is standard only on the S4. Judging by the responses others have been given by dealers when they asked for this to be enabled, you're not going to get them to enable it. Probably the best bet is to find someone ready and willing with VAG-COM near you and buy them a pint for helping you out.
AMI should include leads for iPod and USB as standard.
Which engine are you getting, by the way - 120, 143 or 170?

Thanks MFGF,
I was going to go down the Vag-com route if the garage wouldn'd do it.
Im sure i read that the AMI comes with 2 cables, but i read another post where someone had the AMI fitted and it only came with a USB cable. Must have been short changed!
The only engine option for the A4 Quattro is the 170bhp, not that im complaining!

I have the 170 S-Line Quattro which i'm still running in.
The AMI cables were in the Audi booklet and included the USB and iPod cable.
What's the needle sweep?
- the needle goes from 0 to max RPM/MPH and back?

AMI should definitely come with both cables as standard from early this year.
I missed the Quattro option on your list - sorry. The 170 is a really good engine!

Yes - the thread below lists this and other tweaks that can be enabled via VAG-COM.

Yes, I have AMI only (not MMI) and it came with no cables. When I pointed out to the dealer that the brochure in force at the time of my order stated that 2 cables were included, they did supply me with iPod and USB free of charge.

You should be able to choose the two AMI cables that you want. There's probably a default but, if you're like me (not saying anyone normal is), and you hate iPods, there's no point getting the iPod one... so I didn't. I chose both USB cables.
I'm still pondering whether to equip myself to do needle sweep - bit of an outlay but the dealers won't do it on a non-S car. Unless you fox them into doing it, after all they do seem dumb in most other respects... or maybe that's just their default position to avoid answering hard questions. ;)

Where is the DAB tuner located in the car, for those who have it eqipped?
No idea personally but I think it's just a module you can slot in somewhere possibly in the boot area and then you just need VCDS to code your car for it.
You could call these guys http://www.tclsatnav.com/ as they do this kind of retrofit I think or check out Kufatec who are the OEM supplier (or something) for lots of this stuff to AUDI.

Hope that helps

The Audi dealership that i went to, and test drove their demonstrator car, had needle sweep on, and it was a 170 s-line quattro. ( i think may be one on the technitions had been playing about). Anyway, i specified that i wanted this when i placed the order, so we shall see.
