Hi All,

Been trying to scan my A4 over the past week off and on using a genuine HEX-CAN USB cable and the latest VCDS, but I am unable to open any modules for interrogation. This has worked in the past OK

The cable tests OK (in the VCDS Options section) and is OK on other vehicles.
Fuse for Diagnostics is OK.

I am wondering if one of the modules in the car has gone down without me realising it, although everything that did work before is still working (well to the best of my knowedge).

The alarm previously has moaned about no comms with the siren, even after replacing the siren with another one from a later vehicle (same p/n).

The original Concert radio has been replaced with a Symphony 1 unit.

The battery was disconnected a couple of days ago and now the front windows also won't one touch up/down.

Can anyone give me some pointers as to how I can get the scanning to work again?

Did the fault occur after you replaced the radio???if so try and remove the radio connector and see if you can access the systems

Hi kenney,

I am not sure when the comms problems started exactly.

I did disconnect the Symphony unit today but that made no difference.

I will try disconnecting it again and putting the faulty Concert unit back in just for testing scanning and see what happens.

Try unplugging the Abs module and attempt communication. Is the Abs light on?
