Hi All, first like to say a big hello to everyone out there as this is my first post in this forum :)

I have recently moved to Sweden and are about to order a new MY10 A4 Avant 2.0TFSI. Can anyone tell me if the difference between the 180ps and the 211ps versions of these engines? Is it a matter of the 180 being a "detuned" version of the 211?

If so I guess this means that it could be re-mapped to the more powerfull version?

Hi,

Most of the people on this forum are UK based and the only things we can do to the 2.0T (211ps) is mate it to a manual/S-tronic gearbox and push the power through the front wheels or quattro. We don't have a choice of lower power. For that you go to the 1.8T (120ps or 160ps).

p.s. A MY2010 2.0T Avant (with quattro) is a very good choice :biglaugh:

cheers for that ScottyUK - I appreciate that most of the members are UK based but sort of hoped that there might be a swede or 2 on it as well.

Its a company car but the budget wont really stretch to the 211ps or the quattro im afraid :(
I will probably go with a flexi fuel 180ps version which can be run on either petrol or ethanol - this makes it a green car which means it reduces the taxes on the car by about 20%.

Oettinger remaps for the two engines provide identical outputs, so must be all in the ECU:

Thanks ewill .
I think 270bhp comming through the front wheels would pretty scary to tell the truth :) - maybe the 230bhp option would be more sensible :)

We tune a good number of these.. They put the power down very well even if its 260.. !
