Hi,

I have 9.08 VCDS but I'm a bit of a novice. I manage to put minor frills on such as needle sweep and check fault codes but little else. I need to obtain the SKC for my son's 53 plate Ibiza. He only has the one key and, as he's bound to lose it, I need a spare. Dealershiops are both unhelpful and expensive. Am I able to find the SKC with VCDS? If this is not possible do we have any SKC readers in Kent?

Regards

Hi,

I thought this was a difficult thing to achieve, there was a thread somewhere on here that asked about it.

Can it be done on a b7 tdi??

No needle sweep function on a B7 unfortunately, no.

As a8_tech has said I have the correct tools to do this. VCDS does not do that sort of thing unfortunately.

I'm quite a way from you but if your son can live without the car for a couple of days I can retrieve the SKC from the ECU if you were inclined to take it out, but I appreciate that's not the kind of thing everyone wants to do!
