Hi there,

The front electric windows on my 01 1.6 A3 have both stopped working (together).
I want to go through the usual troubleshooting but can't seem to find where the electric window fuses are located. According to my Haynes manual they are located in a separate fuse panel (i.e. not the fuse panel at the side of the dash, and not the box on top of the battery), but unless I'm missing the same thing after reading three times, it doesn't say where this other fuse panel is located and I can't find it anywhere, so does anyone know where this panel is or where I can find the electric window fuses?

As an addition to this, I'm also not so sure that the problem is with the fuse (but obviously have to check it anyway), as, when the car is idling, if I press the switch to lower the drivers door window, the idle speed drops for a second before recovering, and the lights get a little brighter until I release the switch which says to me that power is getting through ... somewhere.

Any help would be really appreciated.

TIA.

I haven't located these 2 fuses, but according to a US VW forum, they are behind the "knee panel".

I assume these are the lower facia panels and if so, have a look under the left one as I have had all the right side out behind and under the fuse panel and can't find any extra fuses.
