What are your reasons behind manual boost control?
How many miles had your car done? Has it generally been looked after and serviced on time? If so then there shouldn't be any side effect after a remap however a remap can highlight underlying problems that perhaps weren't obvious beforehand.

Hi mate, If you decide to have it remapped make sure you have a diagnostic check on it first.. It will show you any underlying probs hopefully, but a well maintained car shouldn't have much to worry about. as ben above asked, why a boost controller?

my car as gt full service history it was serviced by audi all its life ive had the car 2months and its 1 owner befor me.
ive been told the turbo only sites at 4psi so i was finking about turning it up to 8 or 10 psi then getting it remaped so a manaul boost controler will do the trick by turning it up. ive read up alot on the 1.8t and people say turn the boost up to 14psi then remap but i fink 14psi is to much for the little ko3. if i am wrong in any way would be great full if you put me right fanx
p.s ive heard off a firend who remaps cars that the coil packs go down on the audi's alot when you remap them is this true?

Hi mate,
Load of crap about the coil packs, mates eh!! :)
dont bother with a boost controller, just have it remapped, if you try to put too much boost through your little turbo it will say tarah sooner rather than later.:)
Mileage is perfect, we map cars with double yours as long as they have been maintained properly...
Just ask if you need any more info mate..

Manual boost control = blown engine, have it remapped to around 210PS.

Manual boost control is not required as the boost is controlled by the ECU. It's much safer to control the boost with the ECU than manually as that way the ECU knows what is going on, and most importantly, what is safe.
As for coil packs, yes they can and do go. Sometimes they do go just after a remap, it's just one of those things. The newer revision coil packs are much better than the older ones and you'll probably find that yours have been replaced at some point in their life in any case.

It doesn't work like that.. with more boost you need more fuel and to change the timing too, you can't just turn the boost up.
If you just turn the boost up your car will run lean and melt the pistons. I'm not trying to sell you a map here, I'm trying to stop you from making a massive mistake!

As already said mate, do not use a manual boost controller!! you will destroy your engine with excess boost..
