:p I am new to the VW seen, and need advice on my mk3 golf.Car is a 1995 1.8 driver,in black 3 door and has a few nice touchs and alterations,I thought that i could live with the performance being a little slower than the gti,but i cant! I need some advice on the best engine swap to do,please bear in mind the gearbox needs reconing so two birds one stone.
Currently have original ADZ engine in the car,its done 130,000 but fully serviced.
Budget conversion ideal.:aargh4:

Welcome to the site, it would be cheaper to buy a golf GTI rather than doing an engine swap.
Changing the engine is a labour of love, well puting the engine in is no issue...but the electrics can drive you mad. suspsenpension mods, uprating brakes.....the list is endless.
you could go for a webber conversion and a flowed head and cam change to get more horses, but you'll have a spend a bit to get up to GTI specs.

The car has already had the suspension changed for Coilovers, and it has a brembo front brake upgrade. What sort of weber carb system would be correct and any ideas on where to get it set up? I am in Ipswich,if anyone can recommend somewhere.:biglaugh:
