2.0 Tfsi re-map

After trading in my S4 for a 2.0 Tfsi (200hp) I'm finding the difference in power a bit dissapointing (unsurprising really)

Would a re-map make a noticable difference? I find in my new car that a lot of power comes in really early but then fades away towards the top of the rev range.

I know that I'll never be able to replicate the torque curve of the V8 but I need to do something or my days with this car could be numbered. :(

The short answer is yes. I can't turn your 2.0T into an S4 but I can try to bridge the gap for you! I have a 2.0T myself and so know the engine fairly well ;)

First things first - get your diverter valve checked. They turn out to be split more often than not which means they leak boost.

Is checking the diverter valve something that I can do, or is it a specialist job?

It's probably best to go to a specialist, and to be honest it'll be the same labour to check as to fit a new one. They are approximately £40 so depending on the labour it might be worth just fitting a new one in any case.

Can you post up the results if you fit a new one, I too am after a little bit more from my 2.0 TFSI as I thinks its a little flat on pull away...

I'll take a picture of a split one I have in the garage tomorrow.. it's really worth the few £ to get it changed. Thankfully there is an OE piston type available now as a replacement.
