I have ordered mine in the phantom black, but have still never seen it up close.

I have been to three dealers and none of them have an example of this colour.

Does anyone have a picture they can PM me.

Im told it is a really cool color, slight hint of grey to it.

Ordered it in pearl by the way.

It's a great colour but a pig to keep clean. Slightest drop of rain and it looks filthy!

Check out my gallery or post below for pics of mine

I don't think it looks grey at all, if it did that would have put me off!!

I hope you haven't been looking at pics of Lava Grey as that is a really dark grey that looks black under certain conditions.

You'll love it!

Over a year old and I'm still not regretting my choice. Not sure I'd describe it as having any hint of grey though. Certainly has hint of rain drop...

I've got some pics up here somewhere, let me see if I can find..

<gulp> Hope I don't start something here... but I honestly can't tell how that Phantom Black is different from my... er, Black. Don't worry, I'm not overly protective of my simple Black... I just don't see a [massive / any] difference.

I now have a view that the shiny paint on cars only serves to reflect my LED DRLs back at me when I come up close behind them (in queues, of course). So I can smile...

Besides, I am also a fan of Henry Ford's Model T... and anything the FBI drive in.

P.S. Plife's gallery makes it look shiny... above posted before I looked there.

This is where Lava Grey comes into its own - it is very dark but still manages to hide the dirt well. Picture of my Lava Grey Avant attached: -

I have been the proud owner of P/Black on my B7 S Line and when clean there is not a better colour IMO.

Drying with Megs NXT detailer and Sonus Der Wonder towel is a must for smear mirror like clean.

Ordered Lava though thuis time for a change, plus the demo in Lava I had was filthy and still looked very tasty.

You will love it and good choice.
