View Full Version : Question Beeping sound when ignition is switched off

When I turn off the ignition of my Audi A3 8L from 2001, there is a beeping sound which continues untill the ignition is turned on again, or the headlight switch is turned on. The sound seems to be the same as the light reminder beep (which is constant but seems to originate from the same place as the intermittent beeping sound).

If I do not disconnect the battery terminal, the battery runs completely down due to the beeping.

Please help, if anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Could be the battery in the alarm running low.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the alarm doesn't have a battery. :-(

Hi Mate, I should have been more specific, I meant the alarm siren. Below is a guide on how to replace the battery,

make sure indicator stalk is not selecting left or right when switching off ignition (this will select park light setting, thus similar beeping to headlights on beeping,I believe.)
