Did you get a proper 4 wheel alignment done? Not many places do that i.e krapfit etc. If you did it could be many things. Start with correct tyre pressures on all tyres, are the tread the same on all tyres and are the tyres balanced correctly? Now the bad stuff, could be a bent strut, worn bush etc.

Also read somewhere that Audis pull to the left as safety feature!! Not sure on that though.

Hi there Gumball, I too have an 02 S3. It pulls ever so slightly to the left. Had an alignment check it seemed fine but it still does it.... No help I'm sure but your not alone with this one.

Our 1.8 '98 reg also pulls to the left despite having the tracking done. Nothing obvious on the suspension/steering picked up on MOT and not due to collision damage, so it must be a feature of the A3 designed to keep the driver alert :)

hi i had this problem with my A4 and it was pulling more then slightly, it was quite bad and went throught a FULL 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT adjusting the camber etc etc, but did not help, in the end they adjusted the steering as they said it could be couple % out. that sorted the problem and the car is perefect now.
Before if i held the steering wheel straight it would end up on the pavement in 10 seconds i had to constantly drive with the steering slightly to the right.

i'm not 100% sure the steering adjustment is the correct solution to the problem but it dam well cured it.:approve:

Have any of you had a slight knock on the front of the car, maybe could of knocked it out slightly?

Just put a new tyre on the n/s rear and set all tyres to 28 psi and the pulling to the left is less pronounced.
Result!

Car pulling to the left you say? This is a bit of a bit of a weird one but it does depend on how bad you are talking about. Most of the time all cars will slightly pull to the left. Garage near me spent ages settimg my old mk1 golf up but that used everso slightly pull. You see, roads are set to drain off to the side of the road where the drain is. Guess thats why all the puddles are near the kerb. So,that means the road would have a slight camber on to allow for effective drain off. As like leaving ya car on a hill, its gonna roll down the hill. Apparently its all down to the earths gravitational pull. Could be wrong but sort of makes sense.

HI, I recently bought an 01 s3 which pulls to the left slightly and knocks. I live on the isle of man so it's going through a thorough m.o.t over Here on Friday. Will let you know the results as I'm sure it can't pass for that.

thanks for that teambry,i was told that it is probably the link arms and anti roll bar bushes for the knocking noise and as for the pulling left still not sure i had the wheel alinement done and new tyres fitted it is a bit better but not perfect,i look forward to hearing from you and see what your told good luck and speak soon gumball b.
