Hi guys,

I recently bought an audi a3 tdi. It has just had a cambelt change done at the audi dealership. It's only done a few thousand miles since, but there is a knocking coming from the engine at low revs. It is getting progressively worse.. I think it may very well be a damaged nearside engine mount and I suspect Audi damaged this whilst jacking up the offside of the engine to change the timing belt- thus crushing the nearside engine mount.

Ofcourse, I suspect if i contact Audi they will refuse ackowledgement, but IMO it is quite obviously them who have caused it. What should i do, how much will and engine mount cost to replace and could a DIY mechanic like myself do it?

i would be very, very supprised if you could damage an engine mount in that way.
that's only my opinion, sorry can't help with costs etc.

stewy.

THanks for the input mate- but after a little research on here and other forums it suggests it is very possible.. and i would go so far as to say common place. After searching on here i was suprised to see the number of people who had the exact problem after having their timing belt changed..
