Hi guys,
So I took delivery of my A3 1.6 S-tronic and I absolutely love it! I'm amazed at how much power just the 1.6 has! I would love to drive a 2.0tfsi!

But just a question I'm not sure about my running in 'period'?

I really don't want to mess it up, and my dealer is being all funny about an answer, it seems as if they don't know!

Please help!

on new cars it's not too much off a concern. Because the car gets put on a dyno machine in the factory and the engines have kinda been run in already. Also the materials used today are better than older cars. In theory for safe-sake there is a running in period. It is in the manual. But id be more concerned about the tyres as they are new. So its best not to 'rag' the car. Just drive it smoothly. On motorways, certainly avoid doing 80+. Drive it as if your a knew driver, but a confident one. If that makes sense? I.E no bad habits, with speed, handling, etc! Also avoid over reving the car for now. It a bit hard for me to give you a straight answer with an s-tronic as i dont have much experience with an automatic car.
So smooth, but not too cautious. Hope the answer helps? Hope your enjoying the car! :D
