My phone, a SE K770, has been paired fine with the car for the last 6 months. Then I did something with the phone that caused some names to be on the phonebook on the DIS twice. I thought it was maybe reading the SIM and memory card contacts so deleted all SIM contacts. Now for some strange reason only about eight contacts are listed on the DIS out of about seventy.
Does anyone know how I can get my full phonebook back on the DIS and scroll through them with the steering wheel knob?

Seems as if it's my phone that's busted. My wife's phone works fine so the bluetooth in the car is working. Due an upgrade next week so timing is great for a change.

This problem is common on Nokia phones (I do not recognise the model number you gave and assume it is not Nokia, but problem may be the same) - I have had to install an app call 'Download Contacts' to my Nokia E51 to make it work properly - it's a bluetooth glitch/compatibility issue. Suggest a search on Google to see if others have the issue or if a suitable app exists.

Try deleting the pairing and then re-establishing it.

The problem with phones is that the older Audi system (that we have!) uses the Bluetooth Phonebook Access Profile (PBAB) which not every phone manufacturer implements properly. A also believe the BT module version can make a difference also.

I had a Nokia N95 which was garbage - no contacts at all, even with the Nokia 'hack'. In addition it would keep resetting the RNS-E volume so it would deafen you when the phone rang. Also no signal or mobile phone network was displayed in the RNS-E.

SWMBOs Samsung uploaded contacts but most of them had foreign symbols in them. There were several contacts with no name at all, but the numbers were there. No signal or network info.

I then went to a SE (forget the handset) which worked flawlessly.

Current phone is a HTC Touch HD which also works flawlessly; signal strength, network are shown in RNS-E. Ringtone is played through car speakers as well...

Anyone with a Windows Mobile device should use Jetware Handsfree Extension which is absolutley fantastic, especially if you have a *lot* of contacts as it allows you to only upload certain contacts to the car. I have a seperate contacts category for the car which are the ones I most often dial.
