Two of my centre caps on my Passat have been damaged. My local dealer can't find them on the parts list other than a reference to Mexico and the USA. Part number 3B0 601 149 L. He thinks they may be around £20 each but is not sure if he can even get them...

My Passat is a 2005 Highline Estate TDi with 8 spoke 15" wheels..car was bought from new. I can find these caps on a US site but they put extortionate shipping on. But if I have to......

http://www.centercaps.net/caps/details.php?stockNumber=127

Can't seem to find them in the UK or even any stick on VW badges for the centre that are 80mm.

If anyone has seen these elsewhere I would be grateful for any information

You can get all sorts of sized ones from the dealers, they probably didn't know where to look.
I got some fake new badges http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-VOLKSWAGEN-Tyre-Tire-Wheel-Centre-Cap-Badge-Emblem_W0QQitemZ280299098711QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_ DefaultDomain_3?hash=item414320d257&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 that fixed to the original plastics of ebay, they corroded almost immediately, so had to get new ones from a VW dealer via ebay.
What mm diameter are yours to the nearest mm?
Here are 60mm ones http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-NEW-GENUINE-VW-ALLOY-WHEEL-CENTRE-CAPS-55mm-50mm_W0QQitemZ250487127340QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Ca rsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3a52323d2c&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

80mm for the very centre badge. They were looking for the whole centre cap

I haven't seen these before, is it a UK car?
I have found these which are the same part no. but look different

http://cgi.ebay.de/1-x-Nabenkappe-3B0601149-Deckel-VW-Passat-3B0-601-149-_W0QQitemZ110427920361QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ2009082 6?IMSfp=TL090826165001r24514

and these in the UK, but away until the end of months, but may be worth messaging them as it is a wheel specialist...

:D

Thats what the helpful guy in the parts dept said. The key element is the "L" at the end of the part number. Each variation of cap has a different letter

Heres a picture of a wheel...

I wonder if any of the various numbers on VIN plate will tell me what wheels they are. Car bought from VW dealer...new...in Maidenhead. Its possible there was a job lot of wheels for the Mexican/US market that were fitted by "mistake" ...the dealer had bought 20 Passat Highline Estates as a job lot and they all had the same wheels.

Got one of the VW badges off...its a slightly concave ...."flat"/thin... aluminium type material and yep...80mm across

What about these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Black-Self-Adhesive-Resin-Wheel-Centers-80mm-M-CHROM_W0QQitemZ150361050836QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_D efaultDomain_3?hash=item2302378ed4&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ht_1993wt_941
Pricey though and may not match existing ones perfectly.

Here is what the VW parts list says:
(12) 3B0601149L
wheel cap
/
3B0601149L 8Z8
brilliant chrome / for wheel disc:
3B0 601 025 S / "MEX" PR-C5W

Wheels are at the bottom of here... http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q_how_to/wheels/15_vw_5x112.htm

Great spot snapdragon...thank you.

I searched for ages for those but couldn't find them. £8.99 for four is OK though...although initially the ad it looks like it is for one... and at least I can change all four so they will look OK. Might as well give them a go whilst the hunt goes on for the full items...mind you they're £20 each so not exactly a bargain....

Dealer said the wheels looked like "Michigan" ones which gave me hope....at first....nice to have that confirmed.
