Hi

The warranty is about to expire on my B8 2.0TDI SE Avant auto. Is there anything I should particularly look for before it does? Is it worth taking out extra cover?

Other than an ACC failure two days into the car's life, the only slightly concerning issue is occasional gearbox confusion when pulling away using moderate right foot from junctions - revving, no take-up, then bang. This has probably only happened three times in 20,000 miles.

The only others are quite small:

- boot lid only opens half way on its own when it's cold out (and dark), causing severe impact damage to forehead followed rapidly by anaesthetising expletives

- driver's door (I think) B&O speaker buzzes a bit occasionally with some lower tones (low speech, some drums): is this worth investigating, or is the dealer likely to cause more damage to the door by taking it apart?

Thanks

Jamie

Thought the warranty was for 3 years, so how come it is expiring on a model that only came out in 2008?

Mine has just expired on a 56 plate B7- have Audi got tight with their warranty now?

Good point - it's 2 years plus a 3rd up to 60k miles.

Of course you only get the 3rd "dealer warranty" if you've had your car serviced within Audi centres. If you've gone elsewhere then you only get two years.
