Haldex use?

Have audi stopped using the original quattro awd system? Seen in a report that the new ttrs uses haldex? is it a cheaper way of doing things?

I thought Haldex was used in the Golf's & A3 for space reasons. Isn't a TT on a Golf wheelbase?

Haldex for transverse engines
quattro for longditudal (sp) engines

I know the Torsen Quattro system is (or at least was!) in use on the A6 (C5) range.

But whether the new A6 range uses it, I don't know. All A6s have longitudinal mounted engines, though.
