Hi. I am trying to replace the hose that connects the N75 Valve and the Intercooler pipe. I have purchased some Turbo tubing but the wall thickness is only 2mm, does this pipe experience massive pressure and wound this tube work, or would it just crush under the pressure. I have also purchased thicker pipe but as it is thicker 8mm ID 13 OD it just keeps blowing off, I cannot bolt it any tighter as my N75 piping has started to crush.

It would help to know why you are doing this and what the Golf 4 is, like is it a petrol or diesel?

Hi Crasher. The reason I am replacing the pipe is because the old one split at the point where it joined the intercooler, I have had the car remapped, have a Samco TIP, CAI, all in Blue and so as well as the practical need to replace the pipe there is the cosmetic value too. Vane buggers that we are.
My Golf is a 1999 (v) Mk4 1.8T AGU Engine code.
Thanks, Steve

So you want to replace the 3-mm vacuum pipe from the N75 valve to the charge air pipe?

the pipe I took off was 6mm ID, (original part) and yeah I want to change the pipe that comes off the N75 to the charge pipe, if that's the one that comes off the turbo and meets the Intercooler.

6-mm inside diameter? Do you mean the N75 valve (electrical) or the cut off valve which is pneumatically operated?

sorry no, as you know on your N75 valve you have three pipes that come off. 1) fits inside your Turbo inlet pipe 2)the tube heads off to the back of the engine, looks like it connects somewhere near the Turbo. 3) this pipe (the one I am trying to replace comes off the N75 then connects to your intercooler pipe.. then there is the electrical connection to the N75 Valve. are there two types of N75 on my golf, I only thought there was the one that controlled the wastegate of the Turbo

Hi. My valve is fine, as it is a new ECS N75, I was just after asking what pressure the hose from the valve to the intercooler pipe experiences, thus if the pipe that has only a 2mm wall strength would be strong enough or would it collapse under the pressure. I have tried to fit stronger piping from Demon Motorsport with T clamps but they keep coming off, without even starting the engine. I cant clamp it any harder as it has started to buckle the N75 valve tubing. Cheers

I just use the originals; the pressure is no more than max boost. Less than 1 bar.
