Hi guys any help and advice would be of great assistance. I have an 03 plate 130 saloon and suddenly a couple of weeks ago the abs and traction control lights came on, then also the 'engine workshop' light came on with the glow plug lamp flashing. The 'engine workshop' notification goes out after a few seconds and the glow plug light stays on. If you stop the car and turn off it all resets for a few miles, yards or whole journey, it seems to be totally random and the car drives and runs and brakes as if nothing was wrong. I have had no problems with the car till now. Hope someone can help please?
A vagcom scan for faults is a good place to start.
Have a look in the vagcom section for a member in your area.

Mmm sounds like it could be the brake light switch a very common problem on these cars a fault code read will confirm this.
Have a look and see if your brake lights are working ok.

get it code read asap.
glow plug light could be brake bulbs or brake switch on pedal, but i don't think this would put the
abs or traction control lights on.
with so many coming on at the same time it may suggest a wiring fault,or water ingress.
guessing wouldn't help you much,

stewy.

Well I thought I would take a look at the easy option first, so i changed the brake light bulbs in the rear wings and the fault appears to have gone, did about 60 miles after the 'fix' and so far no lights on the dash. Thanks for all your help, I will get a spare brake light switch for stock seeing as they are so cheap and a common problem and see how we get on for a while, once again thanks to all.:D
