Motoring novice - '98 VW Polo 1L - Handbreak is completely stuck!
Stupidly allowed a stranger to test drive my daughters Polo (she wants to sell ~ needs dosh for wedding). He parked it up and returned the keys - I was unaware that he had yanked the H/b to such a high degree that the 'thumb release button' has retracted down inside the casing.
I have removed the protective cover and exposed two parallel cables with a fixing and a 10mm nut on end of each.
If I can manage to prevent the 'fixings' from turning whilst loosening the end nuts - would this somehow help the H/b to become unjammed?
Also, which way should I turn the nuts to loosen them?
If not, what suggestions/advice could you give?
Many thanks for your time/expertese.
