Due to be built ~5th August and due for arrival ~20th August.

Bit of background - Audi crashed my previous B7 whilst in for warranty repair and they've done me a good deal on a new B8 so ordered the car in Ibis White... Hope it's good!!!

Just one thing... What's the MY2010 and the 3GMMI and stuff??

MY2010 simply means it's a car thats made to the spec for 2010 i.e. Manufacturer Year 2010. It's the current model but this has only just become available.

3G MMI - 3G means 3rd generation of Sat Nav system. MMI being the Man / Machine Interface (or whatever Audi call it)

So is mine likely to be a MY2010? 3g mmi blz blah then ? :)

I've driven the 2.7TDi for about 7 weeks so think the 2.0 will be ok. It's quieter than the 2.7 aswell. Audi crashed my car you see. My B7 got lampooned by some old bird lol!

I took delivery of my SE Exec 2.0TDi143 Avant on 3rd July and it was 2010MY. Wasn't expecting that when I ordered, so it was a nice surprise (company car). Lease company held the lease price but the list price had gone up by £530 so I pay a bit more tax on value, but less on co2, because it had gone down a band (143 to 139) due to the Stop / Start and "Recuperative" stuff.
The dealer gave me these details when they told me I was getting 2010MY:

Keeping it clean - ah the hard part! Apart from not driving it and keeping in garage :aargh4:
http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=50891 this is a pretty good guide and it all comes down to how much time you want to spend on it. Mine gets a relatively simple wash routune every 1 - 2 weeks and a more through detail session every 2 -3 months.

WARNING - only click on the above link if you want to accept the risk that you may become a neurotic OCD car cleaner! You have been warned.

I know someone who was on there a lot and they've recently seen the light and got a life. They seem so much happier now :D

I do have an OCD of detailing my car, and there is a damm good reason the wife doesnt have a garage key - its because there is now about £500 of waxes/polishes and cleaners on the shelves, not to mention the cloths/applicators/brushes and other "tools" of the jobs!

Car looks clean though! lol
