Hi mate,
what year is your A3?
Has it been serviced regularly? If the clutch is not showing any untoward signs then it should be ok.
Same goes for your turbo, we have mapped cars that have close to 200,000 miles on that have been maintained, not saying that parts have not been replaced though during there life..
An economy remap would be fine on yours if your clutch is in good order, then it wont be putting too much strain on it. Although a remap does tend to give the clutch an easier time as the boost is more progressive..
We come out to you for £280 including,
lifetime remap warranty
7 day money back guarantee
improved diesel fuel saving

just ask if you have any more questions mate... :beerchug:

what kind of extra bhp would you get with the economy chip? also how much more does it cost on insurance?

how would i know if the clutch was on its way out? same with turbo?

Heyup mate, if your car is in with audi they should do a full health check on your car, so will tell you if there is anything untoward. ask them to check clutch and turbo for peace of mind you dont need to tell them why.. :)
I thought you was up in Toon with ashington on your profile?

Hiya mate,
Unfortunately as your car is a 98 model it means your ecu will have to come out and be done on the bench. removal of chip from ecu and a new chip(remapped) fitted back in to the ecu.
You would have to send me the ecu or take it to our nearest installer which is. www.austecracing.com (http://www.austecracing.com).. ..:beerchug:

Just a quick question on this...my a3 1.8t is a 2000 model i was told by one place that the ecu would need to be removed and others are telling me it wont.
What is the difference between the models? Is it the purple connector underneath the steering wheel make any difference? Cheers.G

Hi George,
Your car will be ok to remap via the dignostic port, making it a straight forward remap.
The earlier models were not up to speed with the commuincation via diag socket so had to be "chipped"... hope that helps you mate?
give us a shout when you do want a remap.. :beerchug:
