Hey people,
For the third time my CV boot has split on the passenger side wheel. I'll be getting a new boot fitted this weekend (does anyone know how much this costs at the main dealer?). What im wondering is if you were to lubricate the boot itself on the outside using rubber lubricant, would it help extend the life of the boot? It was only because of an observent mechanic during my last service that i found out it was split - otherwise it would have needed the whole joint replacing.
VW need to change the design of the replacement boots because it seems they are made from second rate rubber.
