Hello all,

The noise from the rear passenger side bearing is finally doing my nut in, so I've bought a new stub axle and bearing kit to sort it out. Has anyone done one of these? Am I going to need new bolts to hold the stub axle on or will the current ones be reuseable? (Assuming they aren't rusted to hell). Anyone know what torque they need to be tightened to?
I've done the bearing before so know the intricacies of how to tighten it properley, just haven't replaced an axle before!

Any help greatly appreciated.
Car is 1996 gl tdi.

cheers

James.

Great, thanks for that.
Drum has to come off to get the bearing sorted.
Sounds like the worst bit of the job is getting the bearing shells out of the drum.
Real PITA.
At least I shouldn't get snowed on like last time I did this job!
